Director of International Initiatives

Donika just recently completed her B.Sc. in Human Biology (specializing in Global Health) and Equity studies at the University of Toronto. Prior to this she graduated from the University of Ottawa with a B.A. in Translation and Interpretation. She is fluent in English and French. Donika has been actively involved in her community for many years, and has always been particularly drawn to international issues . As such, she has worked with both international organizations, as well as locally-run organizations to help address the issues and needs that exist within underrepresented and disadvantaged communities. Through these experiences, she has not only learned the importance of giving back to the community, but she has also seen the value in building bridges and working in solidarity with others—whether at the local, national or international level.
Donika joined ACCESS in 2011. She looks forward to working with the other team members and contributing to the projects that ACCESS will take on. She hopes her skills and knowledge will benefit the organization, and she anticipates the positive outcomes that will result from the team’s collaboration. She sees this experience not only as an opportunity to learn from peers and like-minded individuals, but also as a platform on which to help build and to collectively move forward in pursuit of shared goals.
“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.” – Marian Wright Edelman
